Why the first figure can change
A registration is a starting point, but it does not describe the car's current condition. The short questions after the initial offer help distinguish a complete vehicle from one needing an individual review.
Alloy wheels or steel wheels?
Select the wheels actually fitted to the car. Plastic wheel covers do not make steel wheels alloys. If you cannot tell, mention that when you send the request rather than guessing. The alloy choice changes the indicative figure shown in the quote journey.
Small missing items versus major parts
A missing radio or a bit of interior trim is not the same as a missing engine, gearbox or wheels. Choose the option that best matches the vehicle. Major missing parts need a separate review; do not rely on a standard complete-car estimate.
Does it roll, and can we reach it?
A non-starting car may still roll freely. Seized brakes, missing wheels or restricted access can require different arrangements. Describe these before collection so the price and collection plan can be discussed together.
Compare the amount you will actually receive
When comparing offers, check whether they refer to the same vehicle condition and collection location. Ask what is included, what could change and when payment will be made. A large headline number alone does not answer those questions.
