Flat Tyre and No Spare – Recovery Options

If you have a flat tyre and no usable spare, the right option depends on the tyre damage, vehicle equipment and where the vehicle is stopped.

Safety comes first

Do not attempt a roadside wheel change where traffic makes it unsafe. If the tyre is badly damaged, do not continue driving on it unless the vehicle or tyre manufacturer specifically permits limited operation.

No spare wheel?

Some vehicles use a repair kit or run-flat tyres instead of a spare. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and do not use a repair product where it is unsuitable for the damage.
