Repossessed Vehicle Recovery & Auction Transport

Repossessed Vehicle Recovery, Storage & Auction Transport

Onagone provides vehicle recovery and transport support for finance companies, authorised repossession agents, asset-recovery businesses, insolvency professionals, fleets and auction partners. Our role is the physical movement of vehicles after the instructing party has confirmed that it has the lawful authority to recover or move the vehicle.

How repo vehicle work can operate

  1. Instruction received. The authorised business supplies its job reference, vehicle registration/VIN where available, collection location, keys/access information, vehicle condition and the required destination.
  2. Authority and job details checked. The instructing party remains responsible for establishing the legal right to possession. Onagone does not decide whether a borrower is in default or whether a vehicle may lawfully be repossessed.
  3. Recovery or collection planned. We assess access, whether the vehicle runs, rolls and steers, damage, keys and the equipment needed for transport.
  4. Vehicle collected and transported. Once collection is properly authorised, the vehicle can be moved to the lender's nominated storage compound, inspection centre, repairer, auction or other authorised destination.
  5. Condition and handover information. Commercial instructions can include a client job reference and relevant vehicle/collection details so there is a clearer record of the movement.
  6. Onward auction transport. Where the client has instructed a lawful onward sale, Onagone can provide transport to an auction site or other nominated disposal destination. The lender, owner or appointed auction provider remains responsible for the sale itself.

From recovery to auction

A repossessed vehicle may need to be recovered, secured, inspected or stored before being sent onward for sale. Onagone can support the transport stages of that process, including collection from an agreed location, movement to secure storage or inspection, and later transport to the client's chosen auction or remarketing destination.

We do not present Onagone as the lender, debt collector, bailiff, auctioneer or decision-maker on repossession. We act on authorised vehicle-movement instructions.

Vehicles we can consider

  • Cars and 4x4s
  • Non-running vehicles
  • Accident-damaged vehicles where suitable for transport
  • Vehicles with keys unavailable, subject to access and loading assessment
  • Vehicles requiring movement between storage, inspection, repair and auction locations

Information to include with a commercial instruction

  • Company and authorised contact
  • Client/job reference
  • Registration and VIN where available
  • Vehicle make/model
  • Collection address and access information
  • Destination
  • Whether keys are available
  • Whether the vehicle runs, rolls and steers
  • Known damage or loading restrictions
  • Required collection window

Important compliance boundary

Motor-finance repossession is regulated territory. FCA rules require regulated firms dealing with customers in arrears or default to act with forbearance and due consideration, and FCA guidance describes repossession as a last-resort action in relevant circumstances. Onagone therefore only accepts repossession-related movements on the instruction of an appropriately authorised party that confirms the vehicle is lawfully available for collection. We do not give debt advice, enforce consumer-credit agreements or determine repossession rights.
