Pomegranate

Designed by William Morris in 1862 (and sometimes referred to as "Fruit"), the Pomegranate pattern is one of his earliest and most enduring wallpaper designs. Created during the early years of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co., it captures a sense of informal naturalism that would become a hallmark of the Arts and Crafts movement. The design features a lush, abundant arrangement of pomegranates, lemons, oranges, and peaches, all intertwined with delicate fruit blossoms and dense foliage.

What makes Pomegranate so distinctive is its layered complexity and rhythmic flow. The pattern uses winding branches to guide the eye across the wall, creating a sense of organic growth and vitality. While it captures the beauty of an overflowing orchard, the design remains sophisticated and balanced, offering a "satisfying mystery" that prevents the eye from easily tracing the repeat. Its timeless charm and intricate detail make it an ideal choice for adding warmth and historic character to kitchens, dining rooms, or cozy reading nooks.
